My Favorite Eco-Conscious Brands & a Giveaway!

Posted on Posted in Eco-Friendly, Inspiration

Happy Earth Day! On the 22nd! 😉 I personally think every single day we should all be doing things to protect our planet.

Without it there would be no us. No cats, dogs, food, water, air to breathe, birds, trees, bugs, cars, iPhones, wifi, etc. It boggles my mind how much we all take for granted the abundance of our beautiful planet and the lack of appreciation that is so often evident in our lack of responsible use of resources.

With that being said, I’d like to take this time to highlight 3 of my favorite eco-conscious brands. Make sure you read all the way to the end and enter the giveaway!

To-Go Ware

Facts from the To-Go Ware site:

  • Each year, Americans toss out enough single use plastic utensils to circle the equator 300 times.
  • Plastic cutlery is non-biodegradable. Worldcentric.org estimates that 40 billion plastic utensils are used every year in just the U.S. The majority of these are thrown out after just one use.
  • The world produces about 225 million tons of plastic annually and nearly every piece of plastic ever made still exists today.

I love my To-Go Ware! I have 2 sets of their RePEat bamboo utensil sets that I keep in my purse all the time. They are lightweight, compact, and come with a fork, knife, spoon, and a set of chopsticks. They also come in their own cute little carry case that is available in a variety of colors! Check out the RePEat sets here. They are dishwasher safe, but they recommend hand washing to extend their life. I put mine in the dishwasher 95% of the time and have been enjoying them for about 18 months now.

They also sell the bamboo cutlery in sets if you’d like to use them all the time at home. See those here.

Eminence Organics

I love my Eminence products! I was introduced to them at my first ever facial. The spa I chose used exclusively organic products and the aesthetician used the Calm Skin line from Eminence and I was hooked! I have very sensitive skin so I was extremely nervous about getting a facial for the first time. Not only was the aesthetician very knowledgeable about Eminence products, but was also very understanding and kind.

Eminence Organics After my appointment I bought the Calm Skin Chamomile Moisturizer and have never looked back. It smells lovely and lasts a long time. It’s super concentrated so I thin it out with a bit of water before applying. I also use the Calm Skin Chamomile Cleanser, but I would recommend going for the moisturizer if you have to choose just one. I saw HUGE differences in my skin after about a week of using the moisturizer.

The last product of theirs that I use 2x/week is the Pear & Poppy Seed Microderm Polisher. This stuff smells soooooo good and the pot lasts forever!

These products do expire since they are organic and use natural ingredients, but I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Check out this page from the Eminence website to read more about what they are doing to reduce their burden on the environment and how their products are handled with care and made from high quality ingredients.

Lunette Menstrual Cups

Facts from the Lunette website:

  • The average woman uses approximately 17,000 tampons, pads, or panty-liners in her lifetime.
  • Tampons aren’t your friend: fibers can be caught in the vaginal canal, over-absorb precious vaginal fluids and dry out the mucous membrane. (Give Toxic Shock Syndrome a Google!)
  • Pads create a stifling, moist environment — ground zero for yeast infections, bacteria and odor.

I have also read some seriously scary facts about tampons and the amount of pesticides in them. Approximately 90% of cotton grown in the U.S. is GMO. GMO means more pesticides on the crops and in the ground water, which means more pesticides in your body.

I’ve been using Lunette cups for about 5 years now and I love them! I use a size 1 (there are size 1 and 2) and I often forget I’m even on my period.

Lunette Starter Pack!

Lunette cups are made of silicon and are soft and squishy. I boil mine in between periods, but during my cycle I just wash and reuse. I do all the things I normally do while wearing the cup like yoga, biking, and swimming and very rarely have any leak issues.

And this leads us to the giveaway! Lunette has graciously allowed me to give away a starter pack! It includes a cup in your choice of size & color, wipes, and a bottle of wash.

If you already use a menstrual cup, enter anyway and give it to a friend if you win 😉 I’m so grateful to my girlfriend for introducing me to menstrual cups years ago and I’ll never go back to tampons again.

  1. I’m stoked for the chance to win the Lunette cup– I’m really not into tampons & pads; this is a better option all the way around.

  2. I was really excited to see the bamboo cutlery! We’ve got a few coming utensils that are made from bamboo and we love them. I’ll definitely be checking out the to-go ware.

And I am definitely looking forward to using a menstrual cup and doing away with pads once and for all!

  3. Oh wow I’d love that cutlery! So elegant. The skin care range looks delightful, I’ve always struggled to find a brand I could use and just use Aloe Vera gel now.
Menstrual cups rock! Personally can’t wear them so I made my own pads 🙂
Happy earth day everyone and good luck! 🍀
